Have you ever been amazed to learn the ORIGIN of a song that was later re-recorded?

For instance, I heard an OLD cut of "When the Levee Breaks" which I later found was written and recorded in 1929!!! It was done by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in a VERY early blues style, and of course, made MUCH more famous by Led Zep.
Can you name any other similar examples?

how about bulldoze blues by henry thomas which was recorded as goin up the country by canned heat.love the panpipe in there too.
